Ohhh. Mine didnt round up on the progress reports… Weirrrd

My school’s quite new as well, but it’s just a fairly small public high school in a town with about 2,000-3,000 people in it with a bunch of people living on back roads in the country. Just not that many opportunities.

I live in NYC. There’re some opportunities, but the special thing about my school is that it offers courses that aren’t offered in other high schools. Courses such as Quantitative/Qualitative Research and Biochemistry. Those are the two special courses taken at my school. Funny, I didn’t expect so much after being accepted into this school. I could’ve gotten into Midwood after appealing but I didn’t know they took 8th grade grades until this year. I don’t regret coming to this school because it ain’t as bad as I would’ve really imagined high school for myself.

If it’s a high school you have to get ‘accepted’ into, it’s a good one with plenty of opportunities. Eh, I don’t really care; I’m just amazed at the academic records of the people in this thread.

I’m curious, what do you all think your career will be in?

Hahaha! My academic record is a disgrace. I’d better stop second guressing myself and just go with my gut, or with whatever my intellect is telling me. lol

My career? Whoa… Maybe in Biology/Microbiology, Astrophysicst, Artist(It’s not likely, but I can draw), Athlete (Track/Soccer) or maybe a buisnessman of some sort. Lol, my vast selection of possiblities reflect all of my talents/fortes and interests. What about you? :P

What do you mean by second-guessing yourself?

I want to do something that’s very useful to the world and humanity. I’m very interested in psychology and biology (and philosophy and mathematics, but that’s not exactly the type of career I’m looking for :P), so maybe something in medicine, psychotherapy or research. But, I’m not really dead-set on anything and who knows what the world will be like in a few years or decades.

Ya know what I mean. To second guess yourself. Like on tests which do make up a majority of your grade. Lol. My current GPA is a 3.73 (93.17)… Not even close…

I totally agree with you too!!! I have no idea what I wanna do yet so something’s may be taken away from that list. The world does go-round. Lol :D

@sk99 isn’t ur GPA 3.81?

4.0 x 6 (6 A’s) + 2.7 (B-) = 26.7

26.7 / 7 classes = 3.81?

Unless your school uses a different scale…

My county doesn’t do 4.0 GPAs, but they claim that A=4.0, B=3.0, C=2.0, etc. But I’m gonna play it safe and shoot for 93+.

No. Our scale is different. We have both number and letter grades, but we go primarily by number grades. Also, we have pluses and minuses. So yeah, you’re right about the different scale part. Playing it safe is good, just remember about where you wanna go. As far as I know, you’re doing great XD

My school doesn’t round up! Lucky if yours does. Oh, and I’ve been a little MIA lately because my volleyball season just ended and I’ve been, well… Enjoying my freedom

I have conferences tomorrow, anyone else have them soon? I have all As and 1 A- that should turn into an A after I turn in my extra credit!!

Well welcome back! I just had conferences last week on Thursday and it was great. No complaints :D

speaking of NY, I’m going there next weekend for a wedding. While I’m there I’m gonna visit Columbia!!! lol

Cool! One of my friends are from Columbia.

lol i meant columbia university, not the town.

Lol… Oh.

That’s awkward ^

It is? lol

Class of '17 represent

Yeah! ^XD x.x

Can I crash this thread, cause there are no other 8th graders currently on cc?
