Is there anything you wish you would have done in high school?

Course-wise, EC-wise, or other? Any advice for the incoming class of 14?

None except if you are in 8th grade. GET OFF OF CC!!! We’ll welcome you back with open arms in 2 or 3 years but for now stay away and don’t stress about colleges and stuff!

Yeah, just stop worrying about college until you’re older. is a hypocrite As long as you take challenging courses, participate in EC’s you’re passionate about, etc, you don’t have anything to be nervous about until senior year. But then…gulp Haha. J/k. Sorta…

^ How old are you?

Me? shifty eyes Old enough to watch PG-13 movies.

Lol. Getting serious here…I’m a rising sophomore. :)

I’m a rising senior but…
gotten involved with theater
been more outgoing

Other than those things, I’m really happy. My guidance counselor seems to think I’ll do well with college admissions so I’ll get back to you in a few months.

I’m going to be a senior and I guess my only regret was taking APHG when I could have took honors world geography because it stupid people were getting 100’s in that while I was getting low B’s in APHG. I also regret tanking my freshman year.

Its hard to set yourself up for success when you don’t know what to expect, but just set yourself up to start of in a way you won’t regret. We can’t help you when you don’t even know yourself (in terms of post high-school goals, etc.), which you expect to learn more about as you actually experience high school. Think about the future, but don’t let it dominate you.

I’m a rising junior…
Played 2 sports that I didn’t really enjoy

Joined my first intention robotics and loved it.
Starting a math club.
Doing MUN
and It’s Academic.

Also, step your academic work up. If you want to be rigorous, do it freshman year. The 1st year is no time to slack.

i wish i’d grown up in high school so i didn’t get hit so hard in college

meaning i should have talked to people / formed relationships / had a life instead of studying all day and obsessing over learning differential equations

…on the plus side, now i know differential equations

but it really didn’t have to be a tradeoff

mmm, taken that damn dual-credit chemistry class so I won’t have to take chemistry in college

otherwise nothing really, I’m happy

I wish I wasn’t as stoic and tense as I am now. I can see why I’ll never have a girlfriend…

Na, I am basically perfection personified.

I’m a rising Junior, but I wish I would have tried my hardest my freshman year.

Yes. I wish I had gone to a different school.

More ECs: more involved w/ NHS (become an officer, etc.), start a Model UN club, more volunteer hours, etc.

More work experience: I haven’t held an “official” job yet, although I have worked informal jobs for money before (ex. working for a friend).

More time spent on SAT/ACTs: Academically, this is the only area I’m disappointed in. I am very capable of getting top-notch scores (I’m thinking 35+ ACT, 2250+ SAT) but I have only put in a combined two weeks of work for both. Granted, my scores are still very good (33 ACT, ??? SAT that I just took June 5).

More time spent with friends: I do spend some time with friends, but as they all graduated this year I realized it wasn’t enough.

The first three are partially because I want to get into some of the greatest colleges out there, such as Yale and WUSTL, and I know that I’m capable of being successful, but I don’t know if my application will look strong enough.

The first three are also partially just my own wishes; up until early Junior year (I’m a rising Senior) I didn’t really care much for things related to my school and community. I just wanted to get my As and chill with friends or alone. Now I’m opening up and doing more and I really regret the “late blooming,” if you know what I mean.

I’m a rising senior.

I wish I didn’t worry so much about school.

Don’t do EC’s because you think colleges will like them. Engage in activities that you love.

Have a social life.

Get straight A’s :]

Wear a Superman costume on the last day at my school. I wish I had done that.

^that would be pimpin’ except some friends kinda just wore capes one day, I don’t know why, it was kinda odd

I think everyone should regularly dance badly and sing down the halls, I think I did that twice a week with friends, and a lot more on the last weeks.
