@Kavars: it’s okay I’m in Algebra 1 too…they wanted me to repeat it (I don’t really know why but I just sort went with it haha). I’m not going to double up on math because 1) I already double up on languages (I take French and Latin) and 2) we have long blocks on Wednesday and Thursday so theoretically I could have over 2 hours of math in one day and that’s a little bit too much (for me haha). I think I’m just going to do “summer school” so I can get caught up.

@Yakisoba those are really good grades! I mean a 93 is an A (at least at my school) so that’s at least a 4.0 GPA

@yakisoba those are great grades (: a 93 is an A- at my school^ but it’s still awesome!!

We hit our 1000 reply mark everyone :D

How’s freshman year going so far for everyone??

@Kavars

Geometry is really easy and half of Algebra 2 is what you already know, but more in depth. Not very difficult. I’m currently doubling-up on the two as a freshman, but then again my school doesn’t offer Honors classes for either, so it might be more difficult if that’s the case for you.

Freshman year is… Idk. My grades don’t reflect me. Report Cards come out in two weeks for me… Sigh… So not looking forward to that.

@ sfl my year is going really well! Straight As and I’ve met so many great people!!

@ sciencekid maybe it’ll get batter as you get more used to the new atmosphere and workload don’t worry quite yet!

Didn’t science kid quit?

Did I say forever? Hahah… Questions. I just took a break. I’ll be on even less but don’t bring up the past.

@Elaina
I’m adjusted to my school… My schools just dumb in certain ways. Assessments/Benchmarks counting toward your grade? That’s just ■■■■■■■■. I’m no longer gonna have that 99.97 in Biochem. I’ve decided I dislike Biochem very much. Why couldn’t it just be a regular biology/earth science class? Those are the subjects I’m best at. Chemistry is stupid (No offense to those that like it).

I’m really nervous for exams (next week)…they’re 20% of the fall term grade. :O

Whoa there, only 20% of your grade? That’s how much my homework and classwork are worth. Is what you’re taking a Benchmark/Assessment or is it all entirely based off of what you already know? If it is, you’re lucky because mine isn’t and we get penalized for getting things wrong that we’ve never learned about. I don’t understand my school… On the bright side though, I just found out I had gotten a 96 on my Spanish 2 Midterm. Still tho.

Lol @Yakisoba, “not good, not bad.” Those are amazing grades dude, people would kill for those.

Does anyone here seriously plan to attend HYPSM or do we all really think we can?

I also think it’s outstanding that we are 6 or 7 of hundreds of thousands 17’ers. Would that be a good EC?

@sciencekid: our terms are split into two different marking periods (we call them lists) and for the fall which has an exam (we don’t have them in the winter) the final grade is 40% list one and 40% list two and then 20% the exam but the exam has no impact on the list one or list two grades. I think every school does it differently haha. Good job on your spanish test though!
@Apandia: I really want to go to uPenn but I don’t think I would ever get in :P

@sfl2017
That sounds a whole lotta complicated but that’s unique. Thanks :3 You don’t even wanna know what I got on the biochemistry one. I cried. I seriously hate biochemistry -_-. Lol, well, at least chemistry. Don’t worry about the exams though, I’m sure you’ll do fine :). They don’t impact you anyhow.

@apandia I wanna go to brown, but I doubt I’ll get in…

Yeah our exams are only twice a year, but they count for like 50+% of our final grades!!! And our tests are also like 50% of our semester grades. It’s insane. Ugh so much stress…

@ Oooh Ivy leagues… Imma aim kina low and pick one league that has a better acceptance rate and then another like Yale and then comes all the other universities.

I got a 105% on my Research Midterm! So psyched… I really needed that, but I still have to wait to see what my Math, Humanities and Biochemistry grades look like when they enter my Midterm grades. But right now I have a 93+ in every class for an average of 96 altogether… That ain’t gonna stay forever but still happy I got it. lol.

Did anybody start AP’S out there?

me.
ap calc ab,
ap chem
ap bio
ap physics b.

Im still a freshman. My school is new (3 years old) and there’re no AP courses yet. It’s too early anyways. And I doubt you’re taking all those APs unless you aren’t a freshman.
