I know there have been threads about what sort of graduation gifts to buy for your own kids, but what about others? There are a couple of kids who have been long-time friends of my daughter and I really do care about them. Would it be weird to buy them a hs grad gift? Or, do you think that I should just give cash?

This weekend I went to a craft fair and bought small leather pouches with zippers on two sides and a divide in between. For the girls who are closer family friends, I will put a little cash or a gift card in too.

Last year, I had about 15 kids (former scouts, etc.) I wanted to congratulate on their graduations and I gave them all $10 Starbucks cards and told them to take their folks out for a cup of coffee and say thank you–they were a big hit.

For girls, there is a company that does these fun necklaces with interchangeable marbles. It is on-line and called something like Do you have all your marbles? Cute gift for a fairly good friend.

Our favorite token gifts are “grad year” checks. This year, they will be checks for $20.10. They are always a big hit.
