Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me know if I have a chance at getting into UNC Chapel Hill. Right now, i am a junior who has around a 97 to 98 weighted average. This year i am taking 3 AP classes (chemistry, american history, and English), and i plan on taking 6-8 more next year, hopefully getting a 4 or 5 on all of them. I took the SAT and ACT each once receiving a 2030 and a 29 respectively, but i am taking each at least once more. I am a member of the national, music, and foreign language honors societies. I have also been on the swim team and will hopefully be a senior captain next year. I am part of the school newspaper club, student council, and Yorker Club (History Fair club). I have worked as lifeguard as well as a camp counselor over the past few summers. I will have done about 200 hours of community service by the time I apply for college. I was just wondering about UNC because i heard it is much harder to get in from out of state (from New York) as well as receive money if you are out of state. Any responses would be much appreciated, Thank You!

You seem pretty good for UNC. Try the SAT over ACT and take the SAT II Subject Tests. Your E.C’s are great too and you’ll be fine money-wise. The school will be 25,000 or less and NY is an easier state to get into from than some of UNC neighbor states.
