I am a Junior at the moment and I would like to know my chances of getting into UNC Chapel Hill (my sibling loves it there) and NC State. I'm also seeking suggestions and advice! I'm sorry if this is extremely vague, but I'm not comfortable with posting extremely personal information online.

Academics:
GPA - Unweighted: 3.78
GPA - Weighted: 4.38
Class Rank: top 50% (Last year I was in the 25%, but top 50% is an assumption for this year's ranking)
Class Size: 410

Courses:
-I have B's in all 3 of my AP courses for both semesters
-I had a C for the first semester of Advanced Honors Pre-Calculus and a B for the second semester
-I have all A's in all of my other courses.
-I plan to take 4 AP courses next year.

Scores:
SAT I Math: 640
SAT I Critical Reading: 600
SAT I Writing: 620
ACT: 26
Will take either both Math SAT II's or a combo of the Math and Biology SAT II's this June (unsure).

Leadership positions:
-Co-President of a language club at school

Volunteer/Service Work:
-Total of 150 hours done, but I plan to do a lot more.
-I LOVE doing volunteer work during the summer.
-Volunteered at the American Red Cross for a summer
-Volunteered at the UNC Hospital for a summer
-Every summer I volunteer at a children's camp

Honors and Awards:
-I've entered a certain state competition twice and both times I won second place.

I definitely know that I should work to improve both my ACT and SAT scores, but I can not change the B's and C that I already have on my transcript (which looks really bad).

I also understand that colleges like to see students who challenge themselves, but with the B's that I received in all 3 of my AP classes this year, I am unsure if it would be wise for me to attempt to take on 4 AP's next year. I like to believe that I can handle the 4 AP's, but if I get B's in the 4 AP classes next year it will look terrible.

Should I take the risk and challenge myself to 4 AP's or is it clear enough that I will not be able to handle them judging by how poorly I managed this year's set of AP's?
