When colleges expect you to be in whatever percent rank, do they judge your first or second semester of your junior year? I did not do as well as i would have liked on my first semester and I am worried that this will look bad on my college application. If i do extremely well in my second semester will it cover up my first semester at all?

I would assume it would be your rank at the end of junior year (overall with semester 1 and 2 grades) or even your standing at the beginning of senior year...

Can anyone confirm this?

your final junior rank will be the entire high school average plus entire junior year average plus finals,(they wont see it broken down by semester) you will get a "rough" estimate first week or two of senior year to look it over, make corrections, then a week or so later a final rank will be given, before EA apps or there abouts. So all of junior will be averaged with 9th 10th .

It will be your current rank and GPA when you apply. So under normal circumstances your entire junior year grades and class rank will be reported.

OK, thank you guys for all your help.

2nd semester junior rank
