High School Life

what's life like at your high school?

Wow, this is shockingly on topic. I'm in utter amazement!!!!! I think I'll scream like a little girl! AAHhhhhhhhhhh!

It's alright I guess....
Hmmm....band is the best part. We get our own room. I'm not sure how to describe it.

^you're everywhere!!!!ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!

Very dull, at least for me. You have all your basic stereotypical groups (nerds, jocks, sluts, punks, etc.) that no public school can function without. The only thing that really keeps me going everyday during the school year is sports.

I'm ubiquitous?

^yes you are

^ er...yes you are

How did that happen?
I'm laughing really hard now because I KNOW I posted that before you posted. :)

This thread is too relevant to the HSL forum.

LOL
because HSL is notoriously supposed to stay away from talking on topic XD

This thread used to be bigger....or am I crazy?

^It could be a mixture of it WAS bigger and you being crazy.

Anyway... HSL is there at my school. There's not much to say. People only care about sports (well.... specifically football), and don't care about clubs, despite the fact that we have a LOT of clubs.

We have a lot of performing arts kids. The majority of kids in the school are in chorus, orchestra, band or orchestra/band AND chorus. And a huge chunk go out for the musicals (however, not many go out for the plays).

We're a small school (1200 students 7th-12th grade) and we have our moments when we're really tough and I wish I didn't go there (e.g. we once had a knife fight in the hallways between two kids; one time a kid who wore chains on his pants was being taunted by this other kid. The first kid then beat the other up using his chains and blood was everywhere. We're no longer allowed to wear chains to school). Oh... Did I mention that we're not allowed to wear certain colors because a lot of kids in my school are apart of the Bloodz, the Crypts, and the Kings?

We also have two "undercover" cops in our school.

Everyone smokes pot, and even more people deal it at my school.

English is NOT the primary language of students at my school. Spanish is much more frequently heard. Most kids at my school are immigrants from Spanish speaking countries. The majority of which come from the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Ecuador. As a result, the Dominican Republic Independence Day is the biggest day of the year at my school.

...This is probably more information than you would ever want to know about my school.

I think you mean Crips.

"We're a small school (1200 students 7th-12th grade)"

WE'RE a small school...1500 students from pre-k to 12th grade

^Jeez. That's tiny. Are you a public school? My school is.

OH don't talk about small with MEHH :P i know people who have 600 people from pre-k ~ 12

and mine is prek-12 with like <1000 kids which isn't that bad

Mine has 550 in K-12, with enrollment declining about two students per year. I win.

Mine is small... Not the smallest, I'll give you that, but we are small...
But, luckily, we have great janitors that keep our facilities working and clean, which is a blessing. When I see other schools during sports games, I'm like... Ew.

But yeah. Life is pretty crappy, but not violent or whatever. There's not enough honors classes for the smart people, so we get shoved in the back of the stupid class to get easy 100s. Whatever. Facilities are nice, like I said, but no one gives a crap about cross country or track. We bought a new track less than 10 years ago, might have even been as recent as 5 or so, but the only reason we bought it is so we could have the new football field in the middle. The nice all-weather 6-lane track was a "bonus".
Screw you. lol

Eh, it's not too bad. It's not all that great, but it has it's fun parts for sure.

You know, this is a really interesting, pertinent thread for all us high schoolers. In fact, CC should probably just make a whole topic devoted to what high school life is like.

Hmm.....
