High school research

Will professors ignore my emails if I have no connections to them? I’m willing to do whatever work for free for them, at the very least I can see what a research lab looks like

Some will ignore your emails, but not all. Is there any other way you can make contact - perhaps by making use of connections in your neighborhood, church, or friends of your parents and teachers?

Professors are individuals, and will respond or not depending upon their personalities, what requirements they happen to have right now regarding their research interests, and possibly even how they happen to be feeling at the time.

I agree with @CheddarcheeseMN that you may want to try to make use of whatever connections you have. This is also a good lesson for life since connections between people will remain important pretty much forever.

Thanks for your two responses

My only connection is a cousin who is a prof at a top university (but in an unrelated subject matter), so I will do my best to leverage that connection
