High School Science Choices

Hey y’all!

Is it good to take three different science courses to go to a good college?

I have to choose classes for the next school year, and some people are telling me that it’s important to take THREE science classes during high school (bio, chem, AND physics) However, I’m not feeling so hot about physics bc I heard that it’s really math-based. I also REALLY loved bio frosh year and chem is ok.

I’ve taken Honors Bio my freshman year, and now I take Honors Chem as a soph. I’m choosing between Advanced Bio and Honors Physics rn because I don’t want to take both course bc the courses at my school are very rigourous and I don’t think I can handle TWO science course at once.

I go to a boarding high school if that helps.

Yes, for most colleges you should take Bio, Chem and Physics.
It is really math based. But you could take College Prep Physics instead of Honors or AP if that is available?
Take AP bio as a senior.

In which case, the college counselor can tell you what courses would align best for your target colleges.

@bopper is correct in saying that in general top colleges want bio/chem/physics. But I will also say, based on your username, I went to the same HS, and I took no bio and am graduating this month from a college that “suggests” all 3. So it’s really all in context the rest of your schedule.
