High School Science

Is it just me or once u get into high school, the higher echleons of science become extraordinarily hard?

I'm in chemistry this year, and i have a very hard time understanding anything above sig figs or balancing equations, and majority of the class is in the same boat. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a retard, and its a AP class, but I just never can comprehend it very well.

It was the same last year, when I took AP Biology, and I had taken regular biology the year before, and sadly, I didn't learn ANYTHING from BOTH classes.

Is this strange or do some of y'all have crappy science programs/ find it hard to understand science?

I definately can understand what you are saying. However, don't get discouraged at all! Do you spend a lot of time with a prep book?

Well, I try to, but the stuff is so comprehensive, and seems like WAAAY too much to remember.

I also checked the cliffnotes book, but it doesn't really do a good job of explaining imo, it explains the bare bones basics and then says, "do these problems"

Well out of all my classes I definetly find chem to be the least easy of them all. Part of the problem might lie in the textbook. I couldn't understand one section of the textbook(actually, none of us could) so we all floundered for a while until one person was bright enough to check out the same topic in another textbook. He then totally comprehended it, conveyed the information to all his friends(including me), and we(his friends) all did fine. Turned out that the horrific section could be summed up in three easy to understand fragments.

In my school Biology is extremely easy. I'm in AP Physics and it comes pretty naturally to me, but other people find it hard. Chem seems to be the hardest since they have the most labs.

ap bio is so easy, but that's because my school doesn't care much about ap courses, so with the exception of ap calc, chem and physics they're all pretty easy (though harder/more intense than honors classes). I'm heavily depending on cliffnotes for ap bio because I feel as though I'm learning a lot, but not gaing any real knowledge if that makes any sense

omg the sat ii chem was so easy i self-studied in a couple of weeks and 800'ed the test in the real subject tests. i just took it today - rapidly finished by 50 min. i expect 780/

and i never had a decent science course.
