High school senior pursuing engineering, confused with scholarships and running out of time.

I'm a senior in high school and I am currently in my 3rd year of engineering class. I have taken AP Calc and AP Physics and got 4s on both, and I'm currently taking AP Psych as well. I'm an honors student a 3.4 GPA and an SAT score over 1800 (over 600 on each section). Annual household income of about $100,000. I believe I have what it takes to earn merit based scholarships but I have been overwhelmed by how many there are. I am a bad decision maker and can't figure out which ones to fill out. I am a decent writer but would like to avoid long composition essay scholarships as well as those that require a project or somthing like that. I just want to be able to use my impressive record to bring in some money before it's too late. Please recommend me scholarships that would fit my profile, especially ones that have close deadline such as November.

What is your M+CR SAT?

Your GPA and SAT may be too low for much/any merit from the schools that you may be considering.

Many scholarships require at least a 3.5 GPA (sometimes a 3.75 GPA). Generous scholarships often require at least a 1330 M+CR, which an 1800 SAT will not likely have.

What schools are on your list?

I don’t mean to be harsh, but a little reality check is needed. Your stats are good, but they don’t reach the level of impressive. Impressive stats are well into the 2100 SATs with a near perfect/perfect GPA.

We’ve been looking at the large southern flagship schools. You might go online and search “freshman scholarships” for these schools:

U of Missouri
U of Mississippi
University of Kentucky
Louisville
Mississippi State

I’m sure there are others out there, these are just the ones I’ve seen that require a 3.0 or 3.25 gpa instead of the more pupular 3.5 that mom2collegekids mentions above.
