I am going to be a senior next year. I want to go into engineering and I am not sure which ap classes to take. Any suggestions
Taking- AP Physics
AP English
AP US History
Planning to take next year- AP Calc, AP English II, AP bio, Ap chem and i am contemplating whether or not to take AP Euro. Do you guys think I should? What else should I take or changes? Please help me.
All of those AP classes sound great. If you plan to go into engineering, you’ll want to show any prospective schools that you have a rigorous math/science course load. AP Physics, AP Bio, AP Chem and AP Calculus are all great ways to do so.
To decide if you should take AP Euro, think about your planned course load, what you know about the teachers and how much they assign, etc. If you think you can take AP Euro and still maintain a reasonable GPA and your sanity, by all means, do it. In general, schools love to see that students are taking challenging classes in a wide range of subjects. If you plan to strive for a LAC or an Ivy, having a well-balanced array of challenging courses will be even more crucial. The only reason I would recommend against AP Euro is if you would need to drop extracurriculars to keep up the homework, or if be too much for you to keep up with when paired with all the other APs.
Overall though? It sounds great to me. If you think you can handle that senior schedule, I say go for it!
