I’m a rising senior and i was wondering if i should start applying for scholarships in the summer. I know for sure i won’t be able to pay for college out of my own pocket because my dad is only a cab driver but should i start now? Also how do i access them? Online?
What is your ACT or SAT score and GPA? Are you a minority?
I have an 88 average and my sat score is a 1580 however im taking it again in October and plan to boost it up by 400 points. I’m Pakistani. @Madison85
Questbridge National College Match application is open now and due September 28.
I dont believe you would qualify for Gates Millenium because I think Pakistani is considered white.
Pakistani is considered Asian @Madison85
Then if you also would qualify for a Pell grant, you may want to apply for Gates Millenium but your current SAT score is likely way too low.
yes, you should start now. Start with your high schools website under the college and career center. They should have a list of scholarships in your local area. if they don’t, look at other high school web pages in your area and also start internet searches for your local area. Good luck!
You say you are Pakistani. Are you a U.S. citizen or permanent resident green card holder? If not, you cannot apply for the Gates Millenium scholarships.
Oh-right! I assumed he is a U.S. citizen attending high school in the U.S.
Just checked another thread. The OP is an American citizen. But his stats are less than stellar.
Look for schools that offer better need based aids. Your chance for merit scholarship is not high except for some very specific ones if available. For instance, check if there is any local scholarship for Pakistani.
