My family is moving to the UK. I have applied and got accepted into good universities but i cannot afford to go there this year. Should i repeat my high school senior year in the UK? to save money for university. If i do repeat senior year will it effect me getting into a good university next year?
It would not be practical to repeat senior year in the UK. That is because the last two years in the UK system are one course taking usually three subjects in depth (occasionally four) tested at the end by national exams. You just can’t start half way through the syllabus.
You could take a gap year, doing voluntary work or getting an actual job. Can you defer one of your current offers to start university in 2021? Or you could reapply next year.
What country are you hoping to attend university in?
What sort of preparation do you have?
The A-Level curriculum is strong enough and specialized enough that it may not duplicate your high school curriculum.
You could take 3 A Levels (which would give you some credit in the US and which you need in Europe) and work to save money.
