High School Sophomore Schedule

Hi! I'm a high school freshman and I need some feedback to these classes that I plan to take. Is my schedule going to be too stressful? Will I have extra time? Are the classes hard?

Pre Calc Honors (In Alg 2 Honors, no problem)

AP Biology (I do science bowl>>biology; will take chem over summer at community college)

AP Spanish (Best student in Spanish 3; I have spanish tutor)

AP Mandarin (fluent speaker, can write & read decently)

AP Comp Sci (? not much background in this)

English 2 (REQUIRED)

World History (REQUIRED)

I plan to do tennis in the fall and track in the spring.

Please give me feedback; I really want to have a productive high school experience. Thank you!!!

I think AP Biology and Pre-Calc will be your most challenging classes. The other ones should not be difficult at all, though I don’t know how well you are at time management.

Im also doing AP Comp Sci next year so Ill be with you there. However I don’t recommend taking two AP languages that’s just a time waster. Focus on taking like Honors English its probably more useful than AP mandarin

AP bio isn’t that difficult. I never studied and got a 3 on the test without any previous biology background besides 7th grade life science. I haven’t taken AP Computer Science, but know about the test. I think it will be difficult if you have a hard time grasping Java, so I suggest you start learning the basics over summer. The easy part should be when you are learning about things like data types, but Java can be confusing- at least it was for me. My suggestion is to avoid trying to pick up on things like C++ and python and work with C# and Java because it will help you learn the language faster. Good Luck!

Hey! Thanks! that’s what i am actually doing, haha ap mando can wait

@gtownhopeful2016‌ thanks for the detailed description. Got the barrons and started looking at it and dang it was confusing on the first page. But i think once my teacher explains it i will catch on. - hopefully :)
