High School Summer Scholars at UCI

Hi! I'm a rising high school senior who is taking a college course through the High School Summer Scholars program at UCI. I'm taking the class for an actual grade (not pass/fail) and I was wondering how difficult it is to get an A in the class. Just to give you an overview, I have a 4.5 weighted GPA in high school, and have received As in all my AP classes.

I'm a little worried about college courses though for several reasons. First, I've never had a class where over 85% of my grade depended on a midterm and final. Secondly, some people have been telling me that the UCI Summer Scholars program is difficult because it's usually the students at the top of their high school who apply and get in, so I will be competing with the top students, not the usual high school class full of slackers (their words, not mine).

So, has anyone participated in this program, specifically in the science courses? And what did you think, was it difficult to get the grade you wanted?

please advise…my summer course starts tomorrow

I’m a rising high school senior and I’m in this program now. Do colleges look at the certificate of completion of this program? Thank you very much!
