High school valedictorian denied diploma for using 'hell' in speech

Personally, I’ve experienced too many news stories which seemed perfectly cut and dry at first, but actually were hiding one side of the story. It’s surprisingly easy to show a story in a certain light regardless of what actually happened without lying to anyone.

I’m not saying that it’s impossible that the school board is being ridiculous, I’m just saying there’s a possibility that they were justified. If that makes sense…

I don’t understand… are people assuming that the rest of her speech is 80% cursing and bashing the school board? That’s funny.

According to a Facebook group, she is at the point where she just wants to forget about it and not take the diploma. Not sure how true it is, but that’s probably what will happen.

I know it’s supposed to be symbolic that she’s refusing to say I’m sorry but she should just do it and then forget about it.

Pretty ridiculous…but not as ridiculous as my high school’s graduation this year (i wasnt in it though)…even though it was supposed to rain the day of graduation, our miserable excuse for a superintendent decided to have it outside and not use the raindate because he had tickets to the yankee game on the rain date. the graduation was rained on, there were no student speeches, they waited for a few lightning strikes and then sent everybody home. just AWFUL. i really hope the miserable excuse for a superintendent is retired before i graduate…
