High School

Do colleges understand the competition and rigor of different high schools?
My high school has the second highest SAT score in all of Georgia so naturally all the students are smarter. After finishing high school I will be very close to a straight A student(spanish killed me!) yet I will not be in the top 10% of my class, probly 85ish/650
So back to the original question....do colleges look at the high school which you go to?

of course they do

good I just needed to make, cuz of that crappy class rank.....

well that doesnt really make up anything for class rank. maybe for gpa. but not class rank since everyone is in the same boat as you.

dont count on the rigor of your school to fix that .

I don't think that is what he meant by the rigor of the school. I am sure he meant that the school, is rigorous but selective in the students it accepts. Therefore, the average student is a high performer. At least that is what it is like at my school, but they don't rank so they can avoid this problem. Check with your guidance department to double-check if they really do rank.
