Hill vs. Quad vs. FreshEx

So I've been going back and forth in my mind about housing for a while now. Part of me likes Hill because it's supposedly tight-knit and it has a nice dining hall. Part of me likes the Quad because its scenic, has a lot of Freshmen and provides the typical college experience, and part of me likes the FreshEx program because the high rises are crazy nice, own bathroom, etc. In terms of room quality, dining, social factor, loudness, location (I'm in Wharton), and other factors, what do you guys think? I realllyyyyyy appreciate any current Penn student's insight on this topic. Thanks guys!

I can’t speak to FreshEx, but I’ll say that you’ll prefer the Quad to Hill. The dining hall is a nice convenience, but the Quad does have McClelland. While room sizes vary, they are generally much larger than Hill dorms, and of course the scenery of the Quad is unbeatable.

FreshEx (the high rises) is the closest to Huntsman Hall, where the Wharton classes are. Quad is in the middle in regards to distance, and Hill is the furthest away. Hope this helps!

^where would the math and econ courses be held? I’ll be taking math114 and econ010 next year (to fulfill the dual degree requirements) and my roommate is a Whartonite so she’d like to live in the high rises.

Where are the rest of the undergrad classes held? Are they close to the high rises?

Math114 is generally held in DRLB (33rd & Walnut, near Hill), while ECON can be in a few different places.

Humanities courses are scattered. PSCI are generally in Stiteler (just north of 37th and Locust Walk), while others are in a combination of Williams, College Hall, Cohen, and others.

I looked at these buildings on a map. They seem rather far from the high rises? I don’t really mind the walk but how accessible are the high rises to everywhere else that a freshman might need to go?
