not sure how to talk of myself humbly

You don’t need to, just don’t sound unreasonably full of yourself. Avoid being condescending of others and etc.

that’s what a sociopath told me the other day! hahaha

When it comes to bringing up my accomplishments in essay, humility is key. Give credit where credit is due. Instead of saying, “I cured cancer.” I would say, “My mother’s struggles with breast cancer gave me the motivation I needed to step up and find the affliction’s cure.” Also, if you give background about the process, you come off less arrogant. Instead of “I effortlessly won a Grammy,” put “my dedication to my oboe lessons paid off when I won a Grammy.” In addition, sometimes, you just have to say it straight. Instead of “my good looks, winning charm, and overall beauty granted me the title of sexiest man of the year,” be straight up --“I was voted sexiest man of the year.” The key to being humble is to be honest. Best of luck!
