hip hop scene?

bumpin' this post up from the grave. anyone actually audition/join one of the hip hop teams this past year? (or in former years?) i'm rusty as fk .. but for those who were on a team, did you enjoy it? how many hours did it take out of your schedule? would you do it again?

oh and also - anyone take the hip hop classes at wooden? i tried a bit here and there.. mostly with tre (?) but oh man his style was just whack to me.. reminded me of some cheerleading competition girlpop. anyone feel the same? maybe i just went on bad days.

I'm also interested. I was interested in joining ACA hip hop, but apparently the consensus here is that samahang (never heard of it before) is better?

does anyone how much time it takes out of your schedule?

What about a total beginner who wants to get in shape and who's totes impressed with hip hop dance but afraid she's too fat and lacking rhythm to fit in?

What do you guys recommend for her? I'm asking for my uh, cough, friend.

u should tell ur friend to just go on youtube and look at a bunch of stuff there...there are many tutorials and u can learn a lot of cool stuff...
anyways i was also interested in joining a dance team or something like that

any of you guys/girls interested in joining a dance team at ucla can go to their workshops and auditions early on during the year...you'll see flyers everywhere

hey pink one of my friends teaches dance classes here at wooden every so often - i can ask him about it for you . . .

also breakdancing/hip-hop classes every tuesday at the dynasty room upstairs in the wooden center...at 8:30-10pm...it's taught by my friend tom and it's a really fun class..all levels welcome

Do you have to sign up for these classes or can you just drop in (not in the middle of class but say only go to one or two meetings). Since we're all paying for the Wooden anyway, I definitely want to take some classes!

i keep thinking this thread is gonna be about rap music :</p>

i hope my room mates listen to rap -_-

... i'm not sure to read that as ironic, or not. but whatever music your roomie(s) listens to won't matter if you make sure to assert that they wear their earphones at whatever time.

on that note, i can't stand my roommate's music. ing rihanna and mariah and leona lewis. good *, but she plays the same *** over and over ... and i can't ****ing stand that wailing crap! ughghghghgh.

so it's my fault for setting the precedent by listening to my music without my earbuds on.

so maybe that's it. keep your earbuds in and ask your roommates to do the same.

this reply was just an excuse to complain about my roommate -__- i've been keeping it in for a while. HOLY **** I HATE IT SO MUCH.

or if you're in a triple, set up a veto system (pray that one of your roommates has good music taste, though)

Mr Pink...ur roomates music aint that bad

You wouldn't say that if you had just listened to Leona Lewis' CD five times over in the past week.
