I want to study spanish to fulfill the foreign language requirement. I learned Spanish for three years in high school but I am not necessarily good:/I only know some basic grammar and limited vocab. However, I took the placement exam and somehow been placed in S105, which let me skip the most introductory course. Should I worry whether I will be survive in that class? Has anyone taken it? What are some advices you would give?
If you’re actually at IU, it sounds like you should be fine. Here is the course description:
“This introductory and intensive course is designed for students with two or more years of high-school Spanish study and covers the essential beginning grammar and vocabulary of our first year Spanish courses, S100 and S150.”

If you want some advice consider joining the Indiana University Parent FB page. or have your parent. There was so much discussion on this topic in September and 2000 members to weigh in. There were definitely those in the foreign language classes who felt uncomfortable in the class level they tested into. But once in it, IU does not let you back out without taking a W or Incomplete. Talk to your advisor before you get locked into something that is not beneficial and will impact your GPA which can tank scholarships.
