hey ive realized that theyre are really few hispanics that have applied early decision to penn on this site…any reason for that, and since im hispanic is that gonna give me a better chance of getting into wharton.

of course...

It may help a little bit, but you can't count on it as being your hook to get into Wharton. Just because you don't see hispanics in the admissions topic doesn't mean they didn't apply.

but is it true that theyre is a very small amount of hispanic students applying

Eight percent of the enrolled class of '09 was hispanic.

Wharton is a whole other level. Hispanic can help you get in, but you need to have the numbers and solid ECs and essays. Wharton is a crapshoot for admissions, so by being Hispanic, your chances of getting in go up. However, Penn rejects Hispanics. All the Ivys reject URMs. URMs are not given a free pass into the schools they apply to. They have to be qualified. The main reason why fewer Hispanics apply to Penn ED is probably because the best apply to HYPS early and many (like most Americans) do not have the money to lock up with a college ED before comparing all aid packages.

I'm Hispanic and I was accepted to Wharton ED. If you want to know my stats or have any questions feel free to shoot me a private message.

thanks guys for the info.....so does that mean that as a hispanic i should try to apply rd or should i still apply ed...also taebubu if u could send me ur stats it would be awesome.

If Penn is your first choice, apply ED. If it is not your first choice, apply RD. If your passion is business or if you have no problem selling your soul at 18, apply to Wharton. If not, apply to the college. Race should have nothing to do with applying ED or RD.

Hispanic here and got deferred. Applied ED to Penn (CAS). I think I'll go to UMich where they really want me. I have been offered (in writing) a $60,000 merit scholarship from Michigan.

if u dont mind could u send me ur stats...congrats on michigan
