History and Government

What actvities outside of school do you suggest someone who is interested in history and government get involved in?

There are zillions of things you could do:
political campaigns, Young Democrats/Republicans/Libertarians/etc, Speech and Debate, Boys'/Girls' State, any of those Congressional Youth Leadership Council things, any sort of community service, political activist groups, internships with history or govt professors......any of those

Jsa! J S A ! ! !

Boys' State was probably the best experience I've had in my entire life so far.

Girls' State was probably the worst.

Well, it wasn't that awful, but seriously, there is so much cattiness and cliquishness that it's not fun at all. It was such a popularity contest. But maybe yours is different.

that's what I heard from our Girls' State Rep. She wanted to come home after a day.
