Haverford is a very attractive school in so many ways-- and sounds like an amazing learning environment-- but I have one major concern. When I looked in the catalog, there were very, very few history courses listed for Fall 2015. Seriously, like 2: one on the history of Haverford itself and one on women in the 19th century. How is that even possible??? Were all the professors out on sabbatical that semester or is that typical? If someone is interested in majoring in history with a specialization in American history (and not solely through an identity group lens), will Haverford have the courses to support it?
If you google the tri college course catalog and search for only Haverford you will find 11 history courses for fall and 14 for spring. If you increase the search to include also Bryn Mawr and Swarthmore there are many more options.
@TheGreyKing My guess is you searched by the word “history” which only pulled up courses with that word in the course title. If you, instead, search by selecting History from the Department options, you’ll find the range of courses that tonyroxmysox mentions. https://trico.haverford.edu/cgi-bin/courseguide/cgi-bin/search.cgi
