Are history majors at a disadvantage when applying to an i banking job or a m.c. job? Are these employers looking for econ or ORFE majors instead? Thanks.

From Princeton, your major doesn't make any real difference when applying to regular banking or consulting jobs. Obviously, your GPA will be viewed in light of your major (a 3.6 Math major might get an interview while a 3.7 Soc major won't) but thats about it. Just demonstrate interest and knowledge of the field during your interviews and in your cover letter.

Just to reiterate, you're not a disadvantage. That being said, consulting and IB firms do want to know that you're interested in their industry, so you should take economics classes and think about getting a finance certificate. Business Today is a popular club for those interested in finance careers.
