I am currently a psychology student due to parental influence. However, I abhor the subject and would prefer to study history with Jewish Studies. I understand this pairing does not appear suitable for today’s job market, but I do so enjoy these subjects. I do wonder about career prospects in addition to the possibility of earning a living. Any advice? Thanks.
Why? Is psychology more lucrative than history?
Do what you like. Psych majors have the same prospects as most other LA majors anyway. You might as well enjoy your time in college since it doesn’t really effect your wages in the long run.
I changed my major from history a while ago. Job prospects won’t be much different for you. If you choose to major in any humanities field, I highly suggest you plan to go at least a masters degree in the subject. That would help with job and salary prospects.
