Hmm...free stuff?

I know this is a random thread and makes me seem like even more of a cheap Jew than I already am, but...

Some schools send their admittees free stuff...Cornell is offering shirts, Columbia sends those back-windshield-static-cling-stickery-things....etc. I know that UT has by far more admits than most schools and would, therefore, waste a lot of money by sending stuff, but do they send anything to admitted students?

What can I say, I'm just excited.

Have you seen the tuition at Cornell and Columbia? None of that stuff is "free"

veggiehead:

haha...Where have you been? Where are you going to school? UT-Austin? Awesome.......

I thought we lost you on some of the other forums the last few weeks....
Good Luck!

Vector, I am WELL aware that Columbia and Cornell cost a ton of money. But they give you free stuff regardless of whether or not you're going there.

And rodney, yes, I'm officially going to UT! I am absolutely baffled as to why I didn't get into USC, but no matter, I wouldn't have been able to afford it anyway!

UT sends you a piece of paper telling you you've been accepted and a card for a free catalog.

You can get a LOT of free stuff if you do things like tours, scholarship weekends, visit the admissions centers, etc. I probably got at least $50 worth of free stuff last weekend from UT.

lol I wish they did give out free stuff.. like a car sticker or tshirt..

They almost gave me a UT poncho when I toured on a rainy day.. but they ran out...
