So, I'm a junior currently, but am wondering if the Common App/colleges want to see specific clubs through school/another organization, or if more outside the box things could apply?

For example, I've been dancing since I was five, but I've come to absolutely dread it and lose all the passion I used to have for it. I do hold a leadership position of sorts in it (teaching classes for younger girls), but it's doing more harm than good to my well-being. I really want to drop it and focus on things that may seem more like hobbies, like cycling (I ride 50 or so miles a week, and probably will join a club with adult riders to help solidify that that is a major part of my life on my applications), history, and politics (I have a love for the beliefs and opinions that I have, and really want to pursue them farther, for example, I'm going to join the Occupy movement for my city). Basically, I do do things outside of school, but not with school-affiliated clubs because I have awful social anxiety. I think that quitting dance would make my life a lot less stressful, but am not sure if I should just stick it out for the next two years (even though I don't love it like I used to) for the sake of college applications.

I'm really, really sorry about the length of this post, but I'm really at a crossroads with where to go from here.
