Hi,

Now I am 11th grade. I got final accepted letters both from HOBY WLC (World Leadership Congress) and Standford EPGY (Education Program for Gifted Youth) Business course.

I really don't want to give up one of those but I must choose one only since those two camps will be held at the same time in this summer.

I would like to get your advice which one I should choose.

Frankly I want to choose the one which can be looked more attractive to the college admission officers on my future college application.

Thanks.

were you chosen by your local HOBY as an attendee to the HOBY WLC (so that they pay for it) or did you sign up on your own and will be paying for it on your own? It is considered prestigious if you were chosen and given the scholarship, but not as much so if you are paying.

Thanks, hsmomstef.

I am applying from overseas.
I was chosen by local HOBY after the local camp but we still need to pay. The applying process from overseas is different than the process in US

I am not an admin officer -- but I do know that HOBY looks good to many colleges (both local and the WLC) and I don't think the EPGY will look impressive. It is not really very selective (I know it is for gifted kids, but tons fit that description). I would vote for WLC.

If you are flying in and already paying that expensive plane fare, is there any other programs you could also do? Where is the WLC (Washington DC)? and what grade are you in?

I have no other plan than HOBY yet. WLC will be held in Washington DC.

you might consider pairing another program with it (since your parents are already paying the plane fare).
