Do we get an email prompting us to purchase student season ice hockey tickets like for football, or is it done differently? I don't want to miss my opportunity to purchase them!

I was wondering the same thing about basketball. They were available to purchase when the football tix were, but I didn’t have the money then.

Everyone must go to at least one game at Yost. The atmosphere is awesome, especially in the student section. Maize Rage is awesome as well.

I THOUGHT I was told that the student season hockey tickets went on sale the first week or so of September, but I don’t know if that’s true or if we’ll get a notification of when specifically we can order them.

You will get an email about it, but I don’t believe it’s in September. I think it’s more like Oct-Nov, but I could be wrong. In any case, don’t worry…you’ll receive something for sure. It will tell you about ordering info, etc. It might even be preempted by a mass email from the team captain, as it has been in the past. The ordering process is the same as in football (i.e. you can form groups before purchasing).

As an aside, I want to echo what the person above wrote. Seeing a game at Yost is one of the most amazing experiences anyone could have at Michigan. As much as I like football, the hockey games are 100 times more fun.

I wish someone would have told me that or I’d have JUST gotten hockey tickets, hockey and football seems a little excessive but I couldn’t decide. >.<

Hopefully I’ll meet some people when I get to campus to join a group with, I couldn’t for football. :(

I’m just curious now lol. What’s so special about hockey games that make it so much better than the football games?

Arena is jammed.

Pep band in upper corner.

Scripted cheers (partially obscene).

Dekers Club.

Championship banners, although I keep asking what happened to the WCHA banners.

Hockey tradition. Member of '64 NCAA championship team is the coach of the current team.

Hockey is a better sport than football (imo, but that’s because I’m Canadian).

Some of my friends who don’t go to U of M are bigger U of M football fans than I am, and they’re flabbergasted that I didn’t buy football tickets. I told them I’m saving the money to pay to watch hockey instead.

Football at Michigan is #1. Hockey is #2.

I’m getting both football and hockey tickets.

UM hockey is my first true sport love.

Yost is louder than the Big House. I mean, seriously, it is.

The C-Ya chant, everyone dancing to “I Can’t Turn You Loose” (though I do miss Mr. Johnson), score-o, sieve, if you can’t get into college go to state…I could go on all day.

90% of my friends have never been to a Michigan hockey game. They don’t know what they’re missing.

It’s a great atmosphere, I just wish they would stop booting people for the Cya chant. Thats bull. And hopefully luxury boxes make the big house louder because sadly, Yost really is louder.

Score-o, man do I want hockey to start

I am excited for hockey now, I hope I can get tickets. Hockey is definitely my favorite sport, sounds like I’ll like it more than football for sure. I was told here that at football games students pretty much sit wherever, is it like that for hockey too or do I seriously need to get on trying to find a seating group? It doesn’t seem like it’d be any fun to sit by myself.

D’s receipt from last year is September 9th, so look for an email the first week of school or before. The hockey games are a lot of fun, and make the long winter go by faster.
