Does anyone have current experiences of knowledge of these programs? My D is on the fence about both and we have little info on either to base any decisions on as to whether to apply
My D has a friend who is majoring in directing at Hofstra, and we went and saw a show he worked on there. The Hofstra campus is one of the most gorgeous I have ever seen, and most of their facilities are wonderful (one of the theatres is a little run down, but the black box is state of the art). I think Hofstra is amazing for directing, light design, and all the production side of things. I don’t think they are as good for MT as many of the other schools, though. They are trying to improve it, but it is still much better for production than performance. I imagine that it will rise in the ranks over the next few years though.
