Hohns Hopkins BME

My son was accepted by the following universities.

Cornell, Johns Hopkins BME, Duke, UC Berkeley, Rice, Casewestern.

His major is Biological engineering. Which school should he go? Please help!!!

I'd go with Johns Hopkins and never look back.

*Getting into BioMedical Engineering at a place like Johns Hopkins is nearly impossible. * The admit rate must be in the low teens at best..... It's incredibly rigorous, but the faculty are world class (usually dual with the Johns Hopkins Med), and the students there are second to none (and often turn down MIT, CalTech for JHU's BioMedical Engineering or Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering departments).

BME @ JHU is 110% the be academic program on that list. Not to mention that Hopkins students can have fun on the weekends and usually enjoy a lively (and almost TOO lively) social life outside the classroom!

Congrats to your son! I also want to go to those exact schools in that exact major. This is order of preference I would put them in:
1. JHU - PRESTIGE! GOOD PROGRAM! Just f.y.i., some of the kids there might be a little cutthroat. This is according to some of my buddies that go to JHU currently.
2. Rice - Houston + MDAnderson Center + Great Campus = Fun Time. Personally, this is my top choice.
3. Duke/Cornell - Expensive, but the experience will be great. Both campuses are beautiful in their own ways. Visit these places once more first if your son plans on going there though.
4. UCB - I don't know a great deal about the quality of the program here, sorry.
5. Case Western - Ohio is a fun place and I know the BME program there is quite good. I believe the facilities at the other colleges are better for the same cost though.
