I tested one of those for the charity thrift shop where I volunteer. It made great waffles!!
Thanks, The recipe book has waffle recipes but supposedly you can use it for other things, with eggs, potatoes, etc. That is what Iām curious about. Anyway, it was $7.99 on Amazon and seems like a good deal. Looking forward to trying it out!
If they like games at all might try getting a couple Escape Room games by Thinkfun.
CodeNames DUET is specifically made for two player game (vs the Codenames game which is also great) and is very fun since itās a cooperative game. Very much the favorite.
A small Aerogarden is nice. Nice to have fresh herbs for cooking. Hydroponics so not messy. My kids (and us also) really enjoy it. Ours is a āslim lineā that sits on the kitchen counter but doesnāt take much room at all.
Do they like wine or making drinks from the 50ās? (sort of a retro ānewā thing to make old fashions or martininis etc). Get some āNick and Noraā glasses for themāthey are small 5 oz type wine glasses with a special shape made for āsipping drinksā (Reidel makes some).
If they like to cook a cooking scale (Ozariāfairly cheap) if they donāt already own one and or a Thermopen (1 second instant read) is essential. The Thermopen is a game changerānot all digital thermometers are alike. The Thermopen can be pricey but worth it (they do go on sale especially at Christmas)
This might be a winner. Thanks. They built a garden bed in the fall (outside, of course) but I donāt think theyāve planted anything yet. Outside herbs are a little touchy in this climate as it can get too hot or too cold - on the same day.
Also going to suggest an Arthur Court dog treat jar (I have the cat jar). They are really nice and very fun to keep on the counter.
These are all Keto but some interesting ones
I would use them for a chaffle -which is 1 egg, 1 T any type of flour and 1/2c cheese - like cheddar
I have one kid like that. Itās difficult.
Fortunately for me I guess. They now have my granddaughter so I get to spoil her. Or at least contribute to her college fund.
Itās frustrating to be honest.
Iām doing my last shopping tomorrow. Some hot honey and cocoa bombs to put in a package to our son who wonāt be here for Christmas. He is getting a very full box of things I think he will like. It will go in the mail on Tuesday morning.
Thermapen is a great gift. I gave all my kids them a few years ago and they all use them. The one who hates to cook loves it. She now doesnāt feel the need to overlook her chicken. They come in lots of fun colors.
With the possible exception of a book and a certain type of candy (Reeseās Fast Break), all shopping for presents and stockings is done. And the one package that needs to be mailed has the shipping label on it and is ready to be brought to UPS tomorrow.
Now, itās time for wrapping. Usually wrapping only happens in the last couple of days before Christmas, but Iām hoping to have the wrapping done for everyone else by the end of next weekend. (I refuse to wrap my own presents.) Weāll see how it goes!
Any suggestions for a holiday gift for my hairdresser (besides cash)?
A Yeti insulated mug or cup? A food item like really good chocolates or a wood board w/cheese and crackers that she might use over the holidays?
A Nest candle? Or Joe Malone candle, but they are even more expensive.
My hairdresser hands out hard candies all year long. I give her a couple of big bags of them for Christmas.
Iām not a fan of giving candles as gifts unless you are absolutely sure a person loves them. I received them for years as school gifts and never kept one of them. I canāt deal with the scents of candles.
In general I agree with you. Many of the Yankee candles, ones from Bath and Body works, and other brands give me headaches. But I really like many of the smells of Nest and Jo Malone.
I like the Homesick Candles. Got my Hokie a Blacksburg one and got my older daughter a Hawaii one because she went there on her honeymoon.
It is true that there are many people who arenāt candle people OR are feel candles emit toxic stuff and are more in favor of diffusing essential oils in their homes for scent and ābenefitsā.
great ideas! I found a brand new/still in original plastic packing Vera Bradley tote I bought a few years back to have as a gift. Would
that be ok? Itās about 14x18ā folded up as shown
How old is your stylist and/or are you familiar with her interests/styles?
My 20ās/30ās women in the family would not probably use a VB in a vibrant print like that.
Opinion of one.
I always gave my stylist a ābonus tipā beyond what I gave her each visit. She commented to me several times that little gifts are nice, but cash is best. Realize everyone is different though.
