Holy crap! need help for places to apply to

Akk! I just realized that I don't have a list. Please help me find places to apply for. I am looking for safeties and good matches.

So far I am looking at
UofMN (actually, ill get in, its just a MN thing to apply)
Carleton
Macalester
Bates
Colby
UofW-M
Grinnell

As you can see...very short

Sitaution:
Went to school A as a freshman, went to school B as a sophomore and junior but moving back to school A as a senior. This is because of family reasons. School A is an IB school that weights, school B is an AP school that didn't.

Stats (therefor lack of)
GPA: 3.89 UW (will be severly messed up going to school B)
Rank: Top 15% (I think I'm around 11-12%)
ACT: 30
EC's: Page program, academic and math teams, speech, band, track/cross country, internship with congressman...these are the highlights. I constantly work at my parents' restaurant.
Recs: teachers love me
essay: eh, I can write a good essay

Bad points: Asian. lack of leadership roles because of moving. Class rank and GPA will be screwed up because of move and a unhelpful counselor ties the noose.

I kind of want to go out east or around MN. I'm not into big big schools. Planning to major in history and finance/econ.

Moving was not your fault, and they should make allowances. Your list looks good. Some other schools to look at might be Kalamazoo, Gettysburg, Vassar, Amherst.

UM is your only safety - would you be happy there if the unthinkable happened? If not, add another safety or two to your list. Other than that, your list looks fine.

I was told that UW-Madison looks very carefully at strength of curriculum. What AP/IB classes have you taken? With a strong curriculum you should be in at Madison.
Vassar's a great suggestion if you're a guy. They need males.

wanna know more about Grinnel and Carleton colleges? cuz i'm also interested in them.

If you don't like big schools, maybe you should find some smaller safeties. UM and UW are huge. Clark, Emmanuel, Goucher, Marist, etc. would definitely be safeties and have that LAC feel.

Holy Cross and Villanova could also be good matches. And you could also try Hamilton as a high-match.

All of the schools listed below are small to mid-sized LACs (and LAC-like schools) in the midwest, northeast, or mid-atlantic which offer majors in both history and economics...

REACH: Amherst College (MA), Swarthmore College (PA), Williams College (MA)

SEMI-REACH: Bowdoin College (ME), Middlebury College (VT), Haverford College (PA), Oberlin College (OH), Washington & Lee University (VA), Vassar College (NY), Colgate University (NY), Wesleyan University (CT), Tufts University (MA), University of Chicago (IL)

GOOD FIT: Bard College (NY), Kenyon College (OH), Hamilton College (NY), Bucknell University (PA), Brandeis University (MA), Denison University (OH), Villanova University (PA), University of Rochester (NY), Lawrence University (WI)

LIKELY: Lafayette College (PA), Connecticut College (CT), Skidmore College (NY), Gettsyburg College (PA), Wheaton College (MA), Dickinson College (PA), Trinity College (CT), Union College (NY), Muhlenberg College (PA), Franklin & Marshall College (PA), University of Richmond (VA), Ursinus College (PA)

You guys are amazing! THANK YOU so much!

Yes, I have been taking the hardest classes available to me and as a junior, I chose to go to the community college for an elective class each semester just to up the difficultly.

I live in rural MN so its a bit hard to have alot of AP and IB classes available to me.

Is there anymore schools to expand my list?

Holy Cross, Colby, Bowdoin. Holy Cross offers good combination of academics and school spirit and is located 1 hour from Boston. Bowdoin is the better of the 2 Maine LAC's but located in a rural area.

If you like Carleton's quirky feel, like the idea of being in a city, want a bigger school with an LAC feel, and like academic intensity, University of Chicago could also go on your list.
