My dream school is the university of notre dame. I did not get in for the year of 2018-2019 but I was accepted into holy cross college in Notre Dame, IN. I was wondering if it is worth going there for a year to transfer into the University notre Dame and if the chances of acceptance are improved if I go there and transfer. Please let me know! Thanks.
I would move this question to the University of Notre Dame’s page as CC members there might be more adept to answer this question. This thread is for College of the Holy Cross in MA, not Holy Cross College in Indiana. They are two different schools. I do not believe Holy Cross College in Indiana has a page on CC.
Thanks! Sorry I didn’t think it was on holy cross MA.
If you got into the Gateway ND/Holy Cross program then you would have an outstanding chance to transfer to ND. If you are talking about just going to Holy Cross outside of that program I’m not sure it would make a big difference in terms of trying to transfer in.
I’ve read before that you should go to the best school you can get into, do well, and then try to transfer in. HC does share some professors with ND and as a student at HC you’ll be a part of the student section for sporting events. If you are female, you should consider Saint Mary’s as it is more academically challenging than HC. SMC has a co-ex with ND as well. I am not sure HC does.
