Home Address School vs. College Apps

A friend lives out of district for a high school but lied, using his aunt's address, which is in district, to be allowed to attend that school.

Now that the college application process is full blown, and he needs to turn in apps November 1, he's stressing out.

He wants to know whether he should put his real address, and even reference it in his essay, or pretend the entire way he lives at his aunt's house.

I suppose the question is,
do colleges have access to the the address archived at school?
or do they have only the personal information he sends to them?

Thank you.

The address may be on the HS transcript, I know it’s on ours. However, there are legitimate reasons why the address on the app maybe different from the one on the transcript. I don’t think colleges pay attention to that, they will use the address provided on the application. I’m assuming his home and his Aunt’s addresses are in the same state.

The issue is more between the student and the HS; he should not address it in his essay.
