Western wood pine is the type of poles. The weather is very hot, sunny and very dry, high desert. Hence the linseed oil is used. Afraid to sand. Need more to blend with the dark streaks already on the wood than clean the whole poles. But interesting idea. Also, have not tried wood pencil or marker. I have some- will try and report back.
OK,tried wood marker brown. Streaks look more blended, better.
Wow! Thank you. The furniture in the room is minimalistic. Think Room and Board or Scan Design. The wall is 15 ft tall in the tallest spot. There are two windows on the sides of the bed above which there is waaay too much empty wall space. The nautical tapestries look interesting.
That helps to know @BunsenBurner. Otherwise, I was hunting down so many variations not knowing the look of the room. What is the color scheme of your bed linens or rugs or curtains?
This one is for @somemom who is looking for a Southwest/Navajo pattern quilted coverlet for a twin sized bunk bed to coordinated with a plum/eggplant colored solid coverlet on one of the beds, and also a different option on the same theme and colorway for a queen bed in another room…
(I have to say that the color way was very limiting!)
Lol, yesterday I mentioned that I had had to google “aubergine.” As it is the French word for “eggplant,” I should be ashamed (I speak a bit of French, definitely not fluently).
Anyway, yesterday afternoon I was listening to an audio book in the car, and the author wrote about the main character’s aubergine blanket!
I watch a lot of British cooking shows and some comedy shows also. They use swede for turnip and satsuma for mandarin orange, along with those you mention. And then they cook it on the hob (instead of burner).
Wow @somemom! I am delighted to learn you found one of the suggested quilts works for you! It’s a really pretty one I think! Hope you settle on one for the queen bed too!
