oh, and I've been homeschooled since sixth grade

Our son was accepted to NC State, Indiana, Appalachian State, and UNC Asheville. All were very receptive to homeschoolers.

congratulations!

Always homeschooled, with dual-credit courses junior year (total 14 credit hours) and senior year (total 22 credit hours)

Our S was accepted to Texas A&M, Florida State, and Chapman Univ (in film production + $16k/year merit $)

Also received Army ROTC scholarship to Chapman - value close to $150,000 ($32k/year tuition, $1,000/year books, approx. $15k over 4 years for stipend, + fees)

Congratulations to all of you on your/your child's acceptances! The list should grow in the next couple weeks as decisions continue to come in. :)

Update:
S accepted to University of Texas at Austin. Still planning to attend Chapman University in Orange, CA.

I've been homeschooled since sixth grade, and so far I've been accepted to the U of Pittsburgh, Rollins College, Denver University, University of Colorado, and Duquesne University with merit scholarship...

Congrats to all!!!!

Update --

U Chicago EA
Washington & Lee (with full-ride scholarship)
U Pitt (with full-tuition scholarship)
U Dallas (with full-tuition scholarship)
UVA -- as an Echols Scholar

U Chicago is probably not going to happen because of finances. Now for the decision-making process. Considering we already had a fight last night over this, it is not going to be fun. Choices are good, but this month should be INTERESTING!

LOL. Yeah... it should be interesting all right. ;)

There's a fascinating range of options there. Does your son have a preference? Is that what the argument was about?

D accepted to Washington University in St. Louis this fall. Only school she applied to. We homeschooled all the way through high school. She spent a year at community college taking tough courses to build up a "legitimate" GPA. This also gave her "real" teachers to write recommendations. Doesn't hurt to do well on SAT either. Thrilled to be accepted there. God Bless.

Ds wants to go to UPitt -- and I just don't get it!

It's his choice, though..... :-( If he doesn't like the college, he has to be able to look in the mirror and know that it was HIS choice!

Ah well... I don't get it either, but you're right, it's his choice. A lot of boys aren't so hot on the idea of LACs, and want bigger schools, bigger sports, more people to meet and things to do.

Mine is a little weird in that after touring a few schools of varying sizes, the one thing he was most definite about was small LAC, and not in or near a big city.

Whichever way they go, it's great when they know what they want! (Heartbreaking, though, to say goodbye to that full-ride at W&L!)

What's wrong with Pitt?

I got rejected from UChicago and waitlisted at Northwestern, but it's only a small blow to my self-esteem. i'm headed to rutgers school of engineering with a full tuition and room/board scholarship for which i will hopefully remain eligible for the next 4 years. all for the best

I'm an unschooler (mostly) who was accepted to UChicago through the Questbridge program.

My daughter was accepted to School of Cinematic Arts (Film Schoool) at USC.
:-) She has been homeschooled all her life.

Congratulations to all the students and parents who've recently posted your acceptances! :)

sorry but I am home schooled but not because I am behind in my work I actually am pretty far ahead in my year that is not the reason I got home schooled!
