Okay, finally here are our acceptances. DS has been homeschooled all his life. He applied to a lot of schools because money is a tremendous issue this year. We've been extraordinarily blessed:

Washington and Lee: Fullride and expenses
Hampden-Sydney: Allan Scholar $20k plus grant aid for the rest
Duke: Full grant aid
Clemson, NC State, Grove City, Patrick Henry, and Furman. All with a mix of merit and grant money anywhere from 1/2 cost to all.

And one more school to hear from on scholarships. All had no problem whatsoever with ds as a homeschooler.

Wonderful results all around!
PoeticExplosion, I know a second year (home schooler) at the U of C if you would like a contact. She has posted on these threads.

My Daughter was homeschooled for her entire life. The only school she applied to was the United States Merchant Marine Academy and she was accepted as a Principal Candidate in the first round of Admissions. There were 4 total homeschoolers in her class. During her first month there, she tutored other members of her class in Calc, Physics and Chemistry (not homeschoolers).

I am proud to say that on June 16 she will Graduate along with the other 4 homeschoolers. They entered the academy as a class of 284 and will graduate 141.

Can homeschoolers get into and succeed in a US Military Academy? YES!!!!

Silverweed, I am very late to this thread, but, if you’re still around—where did your son end up going? Our older son has applied to UNC Asheville, and it looks like a good fit for him, because he’s a real individualist (and music lover!). My only worry is – is it too hippie-leftie? We homeschooled for both religious and academic reasons, and I’m very concerned about keeping my kids Catholic. :)

Huguenot–where did DS end up going? Older son is also applying to W&S (and Johnson Scholarship!), but we are concerned about how Greek-dominated it is. However, a full ride is a full ride, LOL! (oops, counting those chickens before they hatch…)

Thanks in advance to all who respond to my pesky questions. I am very new to this forum and just feeling my way.
