Congrats on the GW Accpetance!
Have you heard from American yet?

Yep, I just got my letter a couple of days ago! I got a $20,000 Presidential Scholarship and was accepted into the Honors program. However, the FA wasn’t great and I would have to take out a lot of loans. I’m definitely leaning toward GW right now.

Great! Nice Scholarship offer!

I’m a junior in high school being homeschooled! You’re not alone.

Great!

I realize that i am not alone but thought it would be nice to have a sort of homeschool/chat/support thread omgitsr

I’m definitely going to GW, it’s decided! I couldn’t be more happy even though my initial first choice rejected me. GW is perfect; I couldn’t have done better if someone had asked me to design my dream school from scratch. It’s in the center of my favorite city, it has my perfect major, and the students sound so interesting. I can’t wait until August!

Great! What’s your major?

Registered for AP Exam at High School, scared daylights out of students.

Political communication, minor in political science.

Hey guys! Do any of you go to a homeschool resource centre? It’s essentially a private school, but you’re still technically a homeschool student because classes at the centre are only two days a week.

Also, I cannot stand Saxon either! Excellent curriculum, however.

I’m a homeschooler attending Indiana University - Kelley School of Business this fall.

Nope Film Maker.

Cool Evil Cow

No, we don’t have anything like that around here.

@kypdurron and @mmmgirl

Really? It’s such a great thing!

Does it let you get to participate in sports and band and stuff?

Florida has a law that says you can do any activity at your local public school but no one I know actually does it, except for one girl who takes classes at a public high school. There’s also a homeschooled sports league but most of my friends have outgrown it. We had a newsletter for a whole but it fell apart. Other than that we don’t have any formal activities

The homeschool league and the resource centre are closely aligned, but not under the same organization. The homeschool league here is great and has a lot of participation! I’m going to be in it this coming year.

cool.

No homeschool leagues down here.

I have to play rugby (which i love) on a club team

getting ready for next year.

cant decide between Teaching Company, Life of fred, or Teaching Textbooks for Precalc

Posting that I’m a homeschooler…senior year coming up…homeschooled since grade 2.
