Cool Tiberius

My 4 kiddos are hs-ed, oldest is a senior. She’s going to cc full time, was on president’s list last year, is applying to Williams (top choice) and other small, conservative Catholic colleges like Providence. Was courted by Princeton, but it’s too big.

We used Saxon, hated by most, even me. It’s still a fabulous preparation, though, and she aced college algebra and statistics. We also used Seton, Kolbe, MODG, Apologia for biology and chem. Hoping she’ll be commended for PSAT. She’s taken 2 SAT II’s and that will probably be enough.

So nice to know there are others out there! :)

Hey y’all! :)

Been forever since I posted on this thread…

Anyways, I had a customer the other day who asked me about my school and I told her that I was Homeschooled. Of course, she had to go and just have complete doubts about the whole process. I reassured her of my education, the school’s accreditation, and my future. I then proceeded to show her my acceptance to USCA… and wow! Talk about a dumbfounded look on her face! lol Apparently after that little commotion, she was through with me and moved on the my friend, fellow coworker and also a homeschooled student…but not to fear! I was there! But forreal, of course I defended and stuck up for my friend.

Moral to the story: You’re always going to have people doubt, question, and argue with you about being homeschooled. Have each other’s back. Stick together. Unite!

The end.

If anyone was wondering, I’m a Psychology BS/Pre-Med Program major at [University of South Carolina–Aiken | Best College | US News](http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/university-of-south-carolina-aiken-3449)
I’m going to be an Anesthesiologist in the future, and if it weren’t for homeschooling, I would have never had the opportunities I had in order to make that choice for myself (2years ago).

Everyone, it will be okay. I’m a licensed physician [in training].

Cool story

The best advertising for homeschooling is a student’s successful transition into the adult world. Success, of course, is measured differently by everyone, but if we all can promote ourselves positively, perhaps the stereotype will eventually disappear! Or morph into a positive one!

I’ve been homeschooled all the way and I’m now entering my senior year. Homeschooling has been great for me. I can relate to a lot of the jokes/stereotypes. My favorite is when people ask me:
“So, do you just get to do whatever you want all day?”
LOL

I’m a home study student w/ CLA. :)

Homeschooled and proud of it man.

home school student here!

Cool guys

Ivies and top LACs like Colgate U are friendly to homeschoolers.

Hi! I’m a parent of a homeschooler. We are on here trying to figure out how to plan the last 3 years of high school so that he can get college acceptance and a scholarship.

@ptcbass – is your child enrolled with an accredited homeschool curriculum or are you just the one planning everything? PM me.

So, where are you guys applying next year?

High school junior(Well, now senior as of a week ago) from FL, home schooled most of my life. You’re not alone at all.

I’m homeschooled. A sophomore starting this Fall. You’re not alone, I have met a lot of homeschoolers, although I don’t know how many are on CC.
