Homeschoolers applying?

<p>On the Homeschoolers FAQ part of UIUC's website it says this:</p>

<p>"Do you require the GED?"</p>

<p>"The Admissions Review Committee and the Office of Admissions reviews each application. If a student is eligible to take the GED, we require the student to provide the results to us. If a student is not eligible to take the GED, we continue to look very closely at the student’s other application requirements. The strength of the test scores, type of home school experience, and application essays all go into making this decision."</p>

<p>So does this mean I have to take the GED? It sounds like it, but that seems odd. </p>

<p>Also, if anyone here is home-schooled and has applied to UIUC is there anything general you could tell me about it?</p>

<p>This site offers opinions. Your best option is to call admissions, explain your particular situation, and get the facts…not opinion, which may be true…or not. We would appreciate it if you would post the UIUC official response, however. It might possibly help other home-schoolers in the future.</p>
