Honors Classes

Can anyone give me their view on the honors classes for freshman business majors.
Do the classes involve a lot more work? What is the class sizes, teachers ect.?
Any input appreciated, trying to plan for registration.

There are honors sections of accounting, econ and business speaking that look most like intro business courses. There are also lots of core classes available. You can look on course schedule now and start writing down options. I think the course maximums are listed on schedule. Class sizes vary. D2’s honors classes were anywhere from 10 - 30. Largest were math and science but small compared to non-honors. She found for most part that she got better teachers with honors sections and got to form relationships with them. Some are lots more work, some just a little more, some just different (more discussion based than regular section). Once you look at requirements for major, pick out a list of possibilities and ask specific questions on one of honors 2017 facebook page…usually some upper classmen join these to answer questions.

Thanks SCmom12 you are always very helpful:)

For honors business students there are a variety of classes that cover most of the business core (business classes all business majors have to take). These run the gauntlet from econ to acct to finance and more. From what I’ve experienced/heard there is not much difference between the honors and regular courses with the exception of class sizes. Most notable difference is in the intro acct classes (225/226) where honors students get an actual teacher and meet twice a week, where everyone else has to take the video courses and only has class once a week with a TA
