I have also been accepted to their Honors College. I was pretty excited to hear that this means I get to live in their new Eastern Shore dorms for Honors kids (they’re niceee), but then I saw that you have to apply to get in there which means writing a few short essays. :P

I was under the impression that all Honors kids, were living in the Eastern Shore dorms. I saw nothing about an application to live there (for Honors students).

I went to the Honors Brunch today and you do have to apply for the Eastern Shore dorms. If i remember correctly, there are 108 beds to fill and some are already filled. Also, they cost around $500 more per year than regular freshmen dorms.

I wish I’d been able to go to the Honors Brunch, I didn’t find out about it until recently.

There a few different applications for the LLC but they all look something like this: http://housing.gmu.edu/file/LLC/NCC.pdf

Totally doable, of course, but whyyy?

@goldendomer: Haha, I am a huge Caps fan. Mostly Ovechkin though, so I’m willing to switch allegiances if he’s traded or something.

@armaryland17: uhhhh, I’m not sure? what exactly are IS and OOS?

Can you tell us about the Honors brunch? how was it, any talk about number of students accepted into honors, dorm life, what to expect in the program?

I don’t know if we have to fill one of those out. They didn’t have one on the site for honors college. Plus, we already had to write an essay to get in…

I’m in the honors college and I’m officially going to GMU!
Who is going to be living in the honors dorms?

Honors College - Students interested in living in the Honors College LLC do not need to complete an LLC application. For more information about the Honors College LLC contact David Anderson at (703) 993-1128.

Eep, sorry about that! I called them, too, and was clearly in the wrong… Guess I’ll be living in the Eastern Shore, then. Its construction will be finished in August. :)

hi,
can you please tell me what your gpa and sat scores were? i want to know so i can compare my gpa and sat scores to your’s to see if i can also get into gmu honors.
thanks.

the gpa was around 3.8, the sat scores were about 2100 for all three. I really forget. The things that were SO important a year ago are forgotten so quickly once acceptances are in and decisions are made.

okay thanks a lot

I’ve got a 3.7 gpa and good sats (730 reading, 570 math). Think I’ll get into the honors program?

idk about that…my friends got in and they had over 4.0 gpas and over 2000 sats
i did not get in…but i might get the letter later…but who knows
my gpa was 3.8 and sat was 1880

I got accepted a couple weeks. I took the ACT and didn’t do terrific I got a 29, but my gpa is a 4.5 which is pretty good for my school. Hopefully, your essay will be able to put you over the edge.

I just got in 2 days ago. i have around a 4.2 weighted GPA and a 2050 SAT (in state).

my question is was that 150 number talked about earlier in this thread the number of people invited to join or the number that can actually join? so does this mean I need to reply back ASAP?
