Honors College Question

I got accepted to Stony Brook, but I was wondering if there is a why to apply to the Honors College (sorta late I know). Also, wondering how difficult it is to transfer into the Honors College after attending SB for a year. Im in a serious college choosing dilemma and I would love to know if I could get into the HC,cause that would definetly tip the balance. Thanks in advance.

The Honors College rarely admits students who are not incoming freshmen, but they do occasionally make exceptions. It's too late right now to apply for this fall; the deadline was December 31, and that wouldn't be fair to those who have already applied and been admitted to the program.

From the HC site:

"A small number of first- and second-year students from Stony Brook or other colleges may be accepted for transfer into the Honors College. Minimum criteria include a GPA of 3.5 in a rigorous and well-rounded academic program. It is also important to have demonstrated vigor and leadership outside of the classroom. If you are interested in applying into the Honors College as a transfer, you must complete an application and return it by May 1st. A copy of the transfer application can be obtained by contacting the Honors College."

Hope this helps. Good luck.
