Honors College Scholarship Interview

Hi,

Did anyone else, that was accepted to the Honors College, get and email late last week with information for setting up an interview? The email states the purpose of the interview is to help the Honors College evaluate you for additional scholarships (beyond the original $3500).

Any insight folks can shed on what this might be would be appreciated.

P.S. It is a phone interview.

S didn’t get one - but thanks for sharing the info. Good luck and let us know how you make out.

I didn’t get one, but good luck!

didn’t get one either

I got the e-mail a few days back. I’m too nervous to call yet. :P

Nothing here, but good luck to those who have interviews!

My D got one of those emails. She did the interview. She said that it was automated and recorded. She said she had to answer two questions. She said it was fine and nothing difficult-(questions that she had previously been asked on interviews.)

Letter offering additional scholarship, resulting from the phone interview, was received by DD 3/29/2010.

Congrats!!

yeah i never got a call… but i did get an additional 3500 chemE scholarship

Hmm…I didn’t even know they offer interviews for the honors scholarship. I thought the 3500 was part of the package. But in any case, good luck!!! You already made it into Schreyer, so you shouldn’t worry too much about this!

Just curious, does anyone know if the additional scholarship is based on need, merit, choice of major, some other factor.

Congratulations to all who have been considered.

Judging from the few students I know that received an additional Schreyer scholarship, I’d say it was merit based and the only amount I’ve heard is 3000. There are other merit based scholarships from colleges and departments but most of these become available after the first year. Exception noted above for Chem E.

My daughter did the interview and was awarded an additional $3000. She got the email March 5th. Subject of email was “Merit Scholarship from Schreyer”.
