Honors College vs Normal admission

Hi, I am a prospective international student and I have been admitted at TTU. I am still waiting for my scholarship decision.
I applied normally through apply texas and was unaware about the honors college. So how is admission to TTU different from admission to honors college? What subjects are taught at Honors college? How much of a difference does it make if i dont enroll at honors college in terms of quality of education, opportunites and everything? Can I transfer to Honors College after my first year or even during my first year? Any help from current TTU students would be highly appreciated. I applied for Mechanical engineering but would really love to study medicine.

I am not quite getting this segregated admissions process. anyone to help me out here to clear the confusion??

Unfortunately, the Honors College application is closed. The deadline was March 1st.

Still to answer your curiosity, I copied and pasted some info from the website. The link is below.

Transfer students must apply separately to Texas Tech University. Application and admittance to the university are completely separate from the Honors College application process.

Honors College Application Process:

To be considered for admission, all Current and Transfer students must:
-Be attending or admitted to Texas Tech University (“be attending” meaning you CAN apply next year or semester)
-Complete the Honors College online application, including two electronic recommendations
-Pay the non-refundable $25 application fee online
-Submit an Honors Plan detailing how you will complete the Honors Program

Thank you for the reply. So what are the, like, basic differences between the Honors Program and the normal university majors and courses? Are there any special courses which are available in Honors but not in the normal university program? How are the Honors program courses different from the normal university courses? Like significant differences?
