I've been accepted to the University of Vermont Honors College for the fall, as well as one other public and one private college, and had a question. Is the Honors College comparable to esteemed liberal arts colleges such as Skidmore, Colgate, Wesleyan, et cetera?
Since that is a very vague question, I'll get a little more specific. Could anyone who has knowledge tell me the differences between the UVM HC and private liberal arts colleges in regards to:
Quality of education
Attention given to students
Chances of acceptance into a prestigious graduate or professional program
Competitiveness for national scholarship/fellowships
'Red tape'
Dorms/Food

I realize that some of these things may depend largely on how much effort I put into my education (graduate programs, scholarships) but would still like to know of any differences outside of the amount of effort I exert or which may affect my motivation and effort.

Thank you for any help and I'll be glad to respond to questions or comments.
